Laura Andrade
Laura Andrade is a dynamic cellist from Austin, Texas, establishing herself as both a soloist and a chamber musician. Her career has flourished internationally and within the vibrant music scene of New York City. A laureate of the prestigious 2019 Sphinx Competition, Laura has also performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras like the Austin Civic and San Antonio Orchestras, conducted by Ken-David Masur.
Deeply passionate about chamber music, Laura has collaborated with distinguished musicians from the Juilliard, Borromeo, and Miró string quartets and performed at leading festivals, including IMS Prussia Cove in the UK, Verbier in Switzerland, and Italy's Nume Festival. In the chamber music realm, she has toured with ensembles such as A Far Cry and Sphinx Virtuosi and recently joined Sybarite5, a well-known string quintet.
An alumna of Ensemble Connect, Laura has frequently graced Carnegie Hall’s stage and actively shared her love of classical music through educational outreach in New York’s diverse communities. Her academic journey includes a bachelor’s degree and a performer’s certificate from the Eastman School of Music, followed by a master’s from The Juilliard School. Her artistry has been shaped by mentors like Amy Levine-Tsang, Steven Doane, Rosemary Elliott, and Natasha Brofsky.
